BACEN (Banco Central do Brasil) is Brazil's central bank and primary financial regulator. It sets requirements for capital adequacy, transaction reporting, PIX participation, Open Finance API standards, cybersecurity policy (Resolution 4658) and data governance.
FAPI is a security profile built on OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, designed for the high-security requirements of financial data access. It adds mutual TLS, JWT-protected authorization requests and specific token binding mechanisms.
